Dribble DIPA – Launch 29th August
Today I got a sneaky peak of our latest can release, Dribble DIPA. I am so happy with how this design has turned out. I have been following Port Elizabeth based artist Eyekoo (Ryan Allan) for some time now and his work is epic. When I first saw this robot I knew it had to feature on our Double IPA. The name Dribble came from a hashtag Ryan had used in the original post, as the Robot was Dribbling the basket ball. Dribble DIPA had a certain ring to it and the idea stuck. Working with Ryan on the collaboration has been awesome. As well as being extremely talented, his passion and enthusiasm for this project has really shone through.
The beer is a modern (Hazy) Double India Pale Ale, double dry hopped with some of my favourite American hops; El Dorado and Ekuanot, together with two huge classics; Citra and Simcoe. The Citra and Simcoe we used in this beer were Cryo hops from Yakima Chief, and the use of Cryo hops in this beer has been a real game changer for me. I find the end product way cleaner, much less hop burn and most importantly a far better balanced beer. There’s a whole load of hops in here, yet again, it’s 8% ABV and yet I find it pretty easy drinking.
Yet again we contract brewed this beer at Shackleton Brewing Company in Salt River and this will be the venue for our launch party on Thursday 29th June from 5pm. We have an extremely limited supply of cans, that you can buy on the night, or pre-order for collection on our online store here. For more information you can check out the events page on Facebook here.
We hope you can join us and we look forward to hearing your thoughts on this beer. Cheers, Mike
